Ejemplo
Ejemplo: Yesterday I watched a movie. (Pasado simple) → “I watched” indica una acción completada.
Ejercicios
I ___ (live) in Madrid for five years before I moved to Barcelona.
They ___ (have) dinner when the phone rang.
Material adicional
Future: Will y Going to
En inglés hay varias formas de hablar del futuro. Las dos principales son will y going to. Aunque ambas expresan futuro, se usan en situaciones diferentes.
WILL
Usamos will (contraído: 'll) para decisiones espontáneas, predicciones y promesas:
Forma
Ejemplo
Traducción
Afirmativa
I will help you. / I'll help you.
Te ayudaré.
Negativa
She will not come. / She won't come.
Ella no vendrá.
Interrogativa
Will you come to the party?
¿Vendrás a la fiesta?
Estructura: sujeto + will + verbo en forma base (sin to, sin -s, sin cambios).
Will es igual para todas las personas: I will, you will, he will, she will, we will, they will.
¿Cuándo usamos WILL?
📘 Ejemplo
1. Decisiones espontáneas (tomadas en el momento): The phone is ringing. I'll answer it. (Está sonando el teléfono. Yo contesto.) It's cold. I'll close the window. (Hace frío. Cerraré la ventana.)
2. Predicciones (opiniones sobre el futuro): I think it will rain tomorrow. (Creo que lloverá mañana.) She will probably pass the exam. (Probablemente aprobará el examen.)
3. Promesas: I will always love you. (Siempre te querré.) I won't tell anyone. (No se lo diré a nadie.)
4. Ofrecimientos: I'll carry your bag. (Yo te llevo la bolsa.) Will I help you? (¿Te ayudo?)
GOING TO
Usamos be going to para planes ya decididos e intenciones, y para predicciones basadas en evidencia:
Forma
Ejemplo
Traducción
Afirmativa
I am going to study medicine. / I'm going to study.
Voy a estudiar medicina.
Negativa
She isn't going to come.
Ella no va a venir.
Interrogativa
Are you going to travel this summer?
¿Vas a viajar este verano?
Estructura: sujeto + am/is/are + going to + verbo en forma base.
¿Cuándo usamos GOING TO?

1. Planes e intenciones ya decididos: I'm going to visit París next summer. (Voy a visitar París el próximo verano.) She's going to study English at university. (Va a estudiar inglés en la universidad.)
2. Predicciones basadas en evidencia presente: Look at those clouds! It's going to rain. (¡Mira esas nubes! Va a llover.) She's studied a lot. She's going to pass the exam. (Ha estudiado mucho. Va a aprobar.) Be careful! You're going to fall! (¡Cuidado! ¡Vas a caerte!)

Read about plans for the summer:
School finishes next week and everyone has got plans for the summer! María is going to visit her family in Argentina. She's very excited because she's going to see her grandparents. Carlos isn't going to travel this summer. He's going to work in his uncle's restaurant. He wants to save money to buy a new computer. "I think I will earn enough money in two months," he says. Pedro and Laura are going to go to a summer camp in the mountains. They're going to do climbing, swimming and hiking. "It will be amazing!" says Laura. "I'm sure we'll have a great time." As for me, I'm not going to do anything special. I think I'll relax at home and read a lot of books. But who knows? Maybe something exciting will happen!
