Have to / Don't have to

Have to = external obligation

Similar to "must" but the obligation comes from outside (rules, laws, other people).

Ejemplo
I have to wear a uniform at school. (school rule)
She has to get up early on Mondays. (her schedule)

Don't have to = no obligation

It is NOT necessary. You can do it if you want, but it is not required.

Ejemplo
You don't have to come if you don't want to. (it is your choice)
We don't have to wear a uniform on Fridays. (it is optional)
Recuerda
Be careful: "mustn't" = prohibition (you cannot do it). "Don't have to" = no obligation (you can do it, but it is not necessary). They are very different!
Ejemplo
"You mustn't park here." = It is forbidden. You will get a fine.
"You don't have to park here." = You can park somewhere else if you prefer.
