Word formation
Knowing how to form words from a root is essential:

Common prefixes and suffixes
- Negative prefixes: un-, in-, im-, ir-, il-, dis- (unhappy, impossible, irregular, illegal, disagree)
- Noun suffixes: -tion, -ment, -ness, -ity, -er/-or (education, movement, happiness, ability, teacher)
- Adjective suffixes: -ful, -less, -ous, -ive, -able (beautiful, careless, dangerous, creative, comfortable)
