Reading Comprehension - Advanced exercises and summary
Advanced text:
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet today. The average temperature of the Earth has risen by more than 1 degree Celsius since the late 19th century. This may seem like a small number, but it has enormous consequences: melting ice caps, rising sea levels, more extreme weather events and loss of biodiversity. Scientists agree that human activities, especially burning fossil fuels and deforestation, are the main causes. World leaders signed the Paris Agreement in 2015, promising to keep warming well below 2 degrees and to try to limit it to 1.5 degrees. However, many experts say current efforts are not enough.
