Solved examples: Relative clauses
Ejemplo resuelto
Defining vs Non-defining:
"The man who lives next door is a doctor." (defining - essential, no commas)
"My father, who is 60, runs every day." (non-defining - extra info, with commas)
In defining clauses, we can omit who/that/which when they are the object: "The book (that) I read was great."
Ejemplo resuelto
Reduced relative clauses: "The woman who is sitting over there is my teacher."
Solution: "The woman sitting over there is my teacher." Reduce with -ing (active) or past participle (passive). "The letter that was written yesterday..." -> "The letter written yesterday..."
