Reports
Reports are formal texts that present factual information in an organised way.
Structure
- Title: Report on...
- Introduction: The purpose of this report is to...
- Body: Sections with headings (Facilities, Advantages, Disadvantages...)
- Conclusion/Recommendations: I would recommend...
Formal language
Use passive voice, formal connectors, no contractions, no colloquial expressions.
Reviews
A review gives your opinion about a film, book, restaurant, product, etc.
Structure
- Introduction: name, type, basic facts
- Summary: brief description (do not spoil the ending!)
- Your opinion: what you liked/did not like
- Recommendation: who would enjoy it

Sample review opening:
"Last weekend I watched The Hunger Games, a science fiction film based on the bestselling novel by Suzanne Collins. The film is set in a dystopian future where teenagers are forced to fight to the death in a televised competition..."
