El verbo TO BE (ser / estar)
El verbo to be es el verbo más importante del inglés. Significa «ser» o «estar» según el contexto. Lo usamos constantemente para presentarnos, describir personas, hablar de profesiones, emociones, ubicaciones y mucho más.
En español decimos «Yo soy estudiante» y «Yo estoy cansado» con dos verbos diferentes (ser y estar). En inglés, ambos se traducen con un solo verbo: to be.
Los pronombres personales (Subject Pronouns)
Antes de aprender el verbo to be, necesitamos conocer los pronombres personales, que son las palabras que usamos en lugar del nombre de una persona:

Conjugación del verbo TO BE en presente
El verbo to be tiene tres formas en presente: am, is y are. Cada pronombre usa una forma específica:

Forma negativa
Para hacer la negación, añadimos not después del verbo to be:

Forma interrogativa
Para hacer preguntas, invertimos el orden: ponemos el verbo to be antes del sujeto:

Usamos to be para hablar de:

🤔 ¿Sabías que...?El verbo to be es uno de los pocos verbos irregulares en inglés que cambia completamente según la persona. La mayoría de los verbos solo cambian en la tercera persona del singular (he/she/it).
